Hot Air Balloon

Hot air balloons go as far back as 1783 when the first manned flight was recorded in Paris. Since then, hot air balloons have become a great method of gaining a new perspective on places around the world.
The logistics behind hot air ballooning is really quite simple. The balloon portion, also known as an envelope, is made of a very light weight synthetic fabric, sewn together to create the balloon you see. At the top there are vents that control the release of the hot air to adjust the elevation of the balloon during flight. The controls are located below above the basket, next to the burner. All of these elements combine to create one of the earliest methods of manned flight, and a great way to explore any location.
Hot air balloons can vary in size greatly, the smallest carry one person and the larger balloons that are used by sightseeing companies can carry upwards of 30+ people. Things to remember when going hot air ballooning is that you can increase in altitude very quickly and the temperature at high elevation is much cooler than on the ground. Pack warm. While there are many different types of balloons and many places around the world where you may try it, hot air ballooning provides an incredible perspective for those participating in it. A bird's eye view on your surroundings and adventures below provide a great way to spend an afternoon.
