Location: Travelling south on I-5: Take Hwy 3/Ft. Jones/Etna Exit at Yreka. travel south approximately 20 miles. Just past Callahan follow the road toward Gazelle for approximately 10 miles to Rail Creek Road (the Kangaroo Lake turn-off). Turn onto Rail Creek Road (FS Road 41N08), follow the signs for about 8 miles to the campground.
Traveling north on I-5: Take the Edgewood/Gazelle exit just past Weed. In the town of Gazelle turn west at the road to Callahan and continue for approximately 16.5 miles to the Kangaroo Lake turn-off. Go south onto Rail Creek Road (FS Road 41N08), follow the signs for about 8 miles to the campground.
The lake is at the 6,500 foot elevation, 25 acres in size, and 110 feet deep.
